Why this exists & how to use it

This site grew out of a real project: renovating a house from oil to a heat pump plus a PV system with battery. Along the way it became clear how much you have to understand yourself to make good decisions — and how little of it is explained vendor-neutrally.

What this site is for

For homeowners who want to understand before they buy. Not a sales brochure, but an honest guide through the technology, offer comparison, and funding bureaucracy.

Two guiding values:

  • Vendor-neutral. No paid ranking, no sales commission. Credibility is this site's only asset.
  • Honest about limits. Where something doesn't work (e.g. cooling through radiators), it says so.

How the learning path works

The Learning Path is a staircase: from the basic terms to deep control. It's for everyone — beginners start at the top and are carried up step by step; those with prior knowledge jump into the later stages (especially "Pro · Control").

You don't have to read everything. But the order builds: each chapter assumes the previous one and ends with "what this lets you decide."

What you'll find here

  • Concepts — how PV, battery and heat pump work, in plain words.
  • Compare Offers — the method to line offers up fairly and honestly.
  • Funding & Bureaucracy — the German paperwork, in the right order.
  • Reference — glossary, red flags, controllability checklist.
  • The Journey — the real story behind the site.

In short: an independent knowledge hub for your own energy transition. Follow the learning path in order, or jump in where it interests you.

Next, the big picture: how PV, battery, heat pump and EV form one system.
